Winamp Monitor .v3
( Copyright © 2004 Cody Linneberg aka {-o-} Taurik )

Features »
     » Announce the song you're listening to in many games, including Tribes and Quake
     » Remote-control Winamp from inside a game of Tribes
     » Auto-update your blog or website with the song you're listening to (via FTP)
     » Skinnable interface

This is a winamp monitor written for tribes, but written with flexibility to be used with several games. The program is a simple .exe that runs in the background and retrieves what winamp is playing. With a little bit of configuring you can get say this information into a game you are playing. This program will also let you control winamp in game if the game you are using supports the ability to output files (like tribes 1, this is covered int he readme)

Winamp Tribes Monitor ( 1.2 MB install application)

Note : Please do not download this and rehost it on your website, this project has a limited number of versions, and we do not want multiple versions floating around.

Instructions for how to configure it can be found by clicking help once you have run the program. I did the testing and rewrote the help file to include other games. These edits were done with his permission, in actuality he recoded his original app for me and a few others, However I am confident there are quite a few other people who may find it useful.

Quick Setup Guide for Tribes »
1) Click the Download link above to install Tribes Winamp Monitor
2) Start Winamp Monitor by clicking the shortcut on your desktop or start menu
3) Click the File menu, then Options. Fill out the fields as indicated below:
In the "Save song to" box, write C:\Dynamix\TRIBES\config\currentsong.cs
In the "Receive cmds from" box, write C:\Dynamix\TRIBES\config\input.cs
*If your Tribes is not installed in C:\Dynamix\TRIBES, change the path names above
4) If you want to control Winamp from inside Tribes, grab this script and place it in your config folder.
Then open your autoexec.cs file and add the following line: exec("WinampFunctions.cs");
Now you can control winamp by calling the functions that script creates, like winamp::play(); or winamp::stop();
To find out more, including how to bind these functions to keys, read the documentation
5) To announce the song you're listening to once everything is installed, open your console and type exec("currentsong.cs");
